Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These are the rules for using FitHouseAfrica. We've written them in plain words. Please read them, and email us if anything is unclear.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and FitHouseAfrica Ltd (Lagos, Nigeria), which runs FitHouseAfrica. By creating an account, using a measuring link, or placing an order you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.
FitHouseAfrica has three kinds of users: designers (and their staff) who use our business tools and may sell in the marketplace; clients whom designers measure and sew for; and buyers who order from designers in the marketplace.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to open an account.
- Give true details about yourself and your business, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your login private. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what your staff do with the access you give them.
- Tell us straight away at support@fithouseafrica.com if you think someone else has got into your account.
3. Designer plans and payment
- New designer accounts start with a 14-day free trial. Nothing is charged during the trial.
- After the trial, a paid plan is needed to keep using the paid features. Prices are shown in the app in Naira before you pay.
- Plans are paid monthly through Paystack and renew each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
- We don't refund part months, except where the law requires it or we charged you in error.
- If we change a price, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you.
4. Measurements
FitHouseScan works out body measurements from what a phone camera sees. Each number comes with a confidence level. The numbers are estimates: they depend on the photos, the clothes worn, the light and the height given.
- Designers remain responsible for the final cut and fit of every garment, and should check important measurements with a tape, especially those marked low confidence.
- Clients should follow the on-screen steps honestly (fitted clothes, whole body in the picture, true height). Measurements taken another way are less reliable.
- We keep improving the measuring engine. We do not promise any level of accuracy for a particular person or garment.
5. Verification badges
Badges such as Verified or Certified show that we completed certain checks on a designer (for example, the bank account name matches the business) at the time of the check. A badge is not a promise about every order. We can remove a badge if the checks no longer hold.
6. Buying and selling in the marketplace
- The designer is the seller. The designer is responsible for the product, its description and photos, its quality, making it on time, and delivery.
- FitHouseAfrica runs the marketplace and takes payment from the buyer through Paystack on the designer's behalf. We hold the payment until 7 days after delivery (or 14 days after sending within Nigeria, 30 days abroad, if delivery is never confirmed), then release it to the designer, provided no problem has been reported.
- Designers pay a fee of 10% of the item price on each marketplace sale (not on delivery charges), which includes the payment charges. Released money is paid to the designer's checked bank account every week.
- Prices, delivery time and the delivery charge are shown before you pay. The buyer pays the delivery charge. Made-to-measure items are made for you after you order.
- Cancelling: you can cancel a ready-to-wear order before it is sent, and a made-to-measure order before the designer starts work, for a full refund. Once a made-to-measure item is being made, it can't be cancelled or returned because you changed your mind; it is still covered if it is faulty, different from the listing, or not made to the measurements you gave.
- Problems: if an order doesn't arrive, or what arrives is clearly different from the listing or the measurements given, tell the designer and us at support@fithouseafrica.com within 7 days of delivery (or of the promised delivery date). We will work with the designer to put it right, which may mean an alteration, a remake, a partial refund or a full refund.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act or other consumer law.
7. Work agreed between a designer and a client
When a designer uses FitHouseAfrica to manage work for their own clients (jobs, invoices, tracking links, payment notes), the agreement and any payment are between the designer and the client. We provide the tools; we are not a party to that agreement and don't hold that money.
8. Your content
- You keep ownership of the photos, videos, designs and text you add.
- You allow us to store, show and resize that content to run the service, including showing published products to the public and in our own promotion of your store. This ends when you delete the content, except copies already shared.
- Only upload content you have the right to use. Don't list copies or fakes of other brands' products, or use other people's photos without permission.
9. Things you must not do
- Break the law, mislead buyers, or sell illegal, dangerous or counterfeit goods.
- Take payment for marketplace orders outside the platform to avoid fees or buyer protection.
- Use other people's details, measuring links or accounts without permission.
- Try to get around security, limits or payment, copy the service, or overload it.
- Harass or abuse anyone, including our team.
10. Suspending or closing accounts
You can close your account at any time by emailing support@fithouseafrica.com. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts buyers or clients at risk, or that the law requires us to stop. Where it's safe to, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
If an account is closed, money owed for completed marketplace orders is still paid, less any refunds owed to buyers.
11. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep FitHouseAfrica running and accurate, but it is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses (such as lost profit or business), or for losses caused by a designer, a client or a buyer, or by events outside our control.
As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to a designer is limited to the plan fees they paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and to a buyer is limited to the amount paid for the order concerned. Nothing here limits responsibility for fraud, or for death or injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Disagreements and the law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If there is a disagreement, please email us first and we will try to settle it within 30 days. If we can't, the courts of Lagos State will decide it.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes tell account holders at least 14 days before they apply. Using FitHouseAfrica after that means you accept the new terms.
