Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data FitHouseAfrica collects, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. The short version: measuring photos never leave your phone, we don't sell data, and you can ask us to see, fix or delete what we hold about you.
1. Who we are
FitHouseAfrica is run by FitHouseAfrica Ltd, a company based in Lagos, Nigeria. We provide tools for fashion designers (client records, jobs, invoices, a workshop for staff, an online store), a phone measuring link called FitHouseScan, and a marketplace where buyers can order from designers.
For the personal data described here, we are the data controller under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). Where a designer uses our tools to keep their own clients' details, the designer decides why those details are kept and we handle them on the designer's behalf, as described in section 4.
Questions or requests about your data: support@fithouseafrica.com.
2. What we collect
Designers and their staff
- Account details: name, brand name, email, phone number, password (stored only in scrambled form by our login provider) or Google sign-in.
- Business details you add: location, bio, photos, product photos and videos, prices, opening details, verification documents you choose to give us.
- Bank details for payouts: bank, account number and the account name the bank returns when we check it.
- Subscription and payment records (amount, date, plan). Card details are entered on Paystack's page and never reach us.
- Staff (workshop) details: name, phone, work updates and voice notes sent in the app.
Designers' clients
- Details the designer records: name, phone, gender, birthday, style notes, jobs, payments and messages about the job.
- Body measurements, whether typed in, taken with a tape, or measured with FitHouseScan.
People who use the FitHouseScan measuring link
- Photos stay on your phone. The camera pictures are read on your phone and deleted there. They are never uploaded to us.
- What your phone sends us: the outline shape of your body in each picture (a silhouette with no face, skin or clothing detail), the positions of body points such as shoulders, hips and knees, how the phone was tilted, your height if you typed it or measured it with the phone, the garment being measured for, and your phone type (for example "Samsung SM-A155F") and camera picture size, used only to check and improve accuracy on different phones.
- The measurements we work out from that, with how confident we are in each one.
- Any measurement you correct yourself, or a tape reading you enter.
Buyers on the marketplace
- Name, phone, email, country, delivery details, the order, and any question you send a designer.
- Payment confirmation from Paystack (reference, amount, status). We never see your full card number.
Everyone
- Basic technical data needed to run the service safely: device and browser type, error logs, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your network address used only to stop abuse such as repeated form spam.
- If you turn on phone alerts: a push subscription code from your browser, so we can send the alert.
3. How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract): accounts, jobs, measurements, invoices, the store, orders, alerts.
- To take payments and pay designers (contract and legal obligation): subscriptions, store orders, bank account checks, tax and accounting records.
- To keep the platform safe (legitimate interest): stopping fraud, spam and misuse; checking that designers are real businesses; keeping an audit log of admin actions.
- To make measuring more accurate (legitimate interest, and your consent when you use the measuring link): we compare the app's measurements with tape measurements, and re-measure saved body outlines with improved versions of our measuring engine to check that each change is better, not worse. This is done by our own team only.
- To talk to you about your account, orders, changes to these terms, and support requests.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use body measurements to make decisions about you beyond producing your measurements.
4. Client details kept by designers
A designer who keeps a client's details in FitHouseAfrica is responsible for having a good reason to keep them and for telling the client. We store and process those details only to run the designer's account and the purposes in section 3.
Clients can ask the designer, or us at support@fithouseafrica.com, to see, correct or delete their details. If we receive the request, we will tell the designer and help them answer it.
6. Data stored outside Nigeria
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Nigeria. When that happens we rely on the safeguards the NDPA allows, such as contracts that require the provider to protect the data to a standard at least as high as Nigerian law, and we use providers that encrypt data in transit and at rest.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and business details: while the account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closing it, except records we must keep by law.
- Payment, invoice and tax records: 6 years, as Nigerian tax law requires.
- Client details and measurements kept by a designer: while the designer's account is open, or until the designer or client asks us to delete them.
- Saved body outlines and body points from FitHouseScan (used only to check measuring accuracy): up to 3 years, or sooner if you ask.
- Order records: 6 years. Questions sent to designers: 2 years.
- Security logs and scrambled network addresses: up to 12 months.
8. Your rights
Under the NDPA you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data, where we don't have to keep it by law;
- stop or limit using it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interest;
- send your data to you or another service in a common format;
- withdraw consent you gave, at any time (this does not undo what was done before).
Email support@fithouseafrica.com. We will answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm who you are first. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). If you live in the UK or the European Union you have similar rights under the law there.
9. How we protect it
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers.
- Access is limited by account: designers see only their own data, clients only their own link, staff only their assigned work.
- Measurement links are single-use, expire after 7 days, and are limited in the number of tries.
- Measurement results are digitally signed by our server so they can't be changed on the way.
- Admin actions are recorded in an audit log that admins cannot edit.
- Pages that need a login are not saved on the phone, and saved pages are cleared when you log out.
11. Children
Accounts are for people aged 18 or over. A child may be measured for clothes only by, or with the permission of, a parent or guardian, who makes the choices in this policy on the child's behalf.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when how we handle data changes, and change the date at the top. For important changes we will also tell account holders by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
